Junior and Senior High will be judged separately for these events.
No re-entries from a previous year are permitted. Each entry must be accompanied by an Art Card, which will be picked up and filled out at the Check-In Table. The Art Card is to be placed directly in front of the art work. A teen may enter all the art events, but multiple entries in the same event will not be allowed. All entries must be submitted by at Check-In on Friday. For more information about the scoring of each event, please note the Judging Forms for those events at the end of this Planning Packet.
General Information

Painting

  • Includes all types of paints.

  • No size limit.

  • Junior and Senior High will be judged separately for these events.

  • Includes all sketches and pencil work.

  • No size limit.

  • Original pictures taken by the participant. Computer enhancements done by the participant are acceptable.

Crafts

  • Quilting, cross stitching, sewing, building, clay, etc.

  • No size limit.

  • Junior and Senior High will be judged separately.

Gospel Tract

  • Participants will need to design and create an original tract showing a lost person how to be saved.

  • Salvation theme only.

  • There can be a group effort, but only one award will be given out for each place winner.

  • All type, graphics, and pictures must be legible.

  • Gospel Tracts cannot be larger than 4” x 6” but can be folded any way you wish.

  • Entries will be judged upon the following general categories:
    • Message (Salvation theme only)
    • Originality
    • Grammar/spelling/punctuation
    • Appearance
    • Color and images
    • Layout and formatting

  • Junior and Senior High will be judged separately for these events.

Gospel Tract

Teen Brochure

  • Participants will need to design and create an original brochure advertising their youth group or church only.

  • Junior and Senior High will be judged separately for these events.

  • Entries will be judged upon the following general categories:
    • Message (introducing/information theme only)
    • Originality
    • Grammar/spelling/punctuation
    • Appearance
    • Color and images
    • Layout and formatting

Teen Brochure

Website

  • The website must be for the Church or Youth Group and must be a new work. (i.e. do not point us to your current church or youth group website even though you may have been the one who created it)

  • Submissions can be made via a website URL if the site is hosted somewhere accessible via the internet OR via a USB drive with the fully functional website in a folder so that it can be viewed locally off of that drive.

  • Websites will be viewed on a computer using a browser version that has been released in the last 3 years. Websites must be completely viewable by a web browser.

  • Topics covered must be oriented to the contestant’s church, youth group, or salvation themes.

  • Entries will be subjectively judged upon the following general categories:
    • Overall appearance and usability.
    • Message: Clarity, readability.
    • Originality.
    • Layout and formatting.
    • Effective use of images, sounds, videos, animation, etc. to convey message.
    • Functionality.
    • Grammar/spelling/punctuation.

  • Coding will not be judged.

  • Limit one entry per contestant - team or group membership is considered as one entry per member.

  • Junior and Senior High will be judged separately for these events.

Website

Service Set

  • Junior and Senior High will be judged separately for these events.

  • A Service Set is a set of designs that match in theme and are used to promote a particular event at church.

  • A Service Set includes the following 3 items:
    • Church Bulletin Cover
    • Background slide for congregational songs
    • Promotional Slide

  • These need to be printed in color ahead of time for judging.

  • These will be displayed along with the other artwork.

Service Set

Promotional Video

  • Junior and Senior High will be judged separately for these events.

  • This category is designed to allow teens to create a short promotional video for the youth group or a specific activity.

  • Any music used must be approved by the Group Lead-er prior to the event. Please have a Group Leader Mu-sic Authorization Form filled out if using music for your skit. This can be found at the end of the Planning Packet.

  • Video should be 3-5 minutes in length.

  • Video should be brought on a flash drive.
